Every town in Broadband Architect is a real place, built from open data. This page records where that data comes from and the licences it carries. The same credits appear in-game under Settings → Credits & data.
Street networks, junctions and routing geometry contain data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL) v1.0.
The game's per-town street databases are derivative databases of OpenStreetMap under ODbL §4.4. In accordance with ODbL §4.6, the derived town databases will be offered for download from this page when the game's first public build is released.
Building footprints (OS OpenMap – Local) and premises counts (OS Open UPRN) contain OS data © Crown copyright and database right 2026, licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
OS Open UPRN additionally contains Royal Mail data © Royal Mail copyright and database right 2026, and data from the Office for National Statistics licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
Settlement boundaries and population data: Source — Office for National Statistics, licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
Country-scale coastline and railway geometry from Natural Earth (1:10m), which is in the public domain.
Northern Ireland is not currently modelled: no open-licence settlement and address source exists that meets the project's licensing bar, and this is declared in the shipped data's provenance rather than approximated. Questions about data or licensing: hello@broadbandarchitect.com.
